This easy DIY quote wall decor is our new favorite way to bring some personality into ANY space! We used the ahhh-freaking-mazing Cricut Maker to make ours and our lives are forever changed.
We’ve used other vinyl cutters in the past and this one is by far the easiest! The software is so user friendly and the whole process was so freaking easy!
Don’t be surprised if you see this kind of wall decor in every single room in my house. In fact, you can count on seeing this kind of wall decor in every single room in my house!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own easy DIY quote wall decor:
- The Cricut Maker
- vinyl in the color of your choice
- wood stain
- wood Glue
- hard board
- 3/4 in. square dowel
- table or miter saw
First, measure your hardboard and cut.
Next, measure and cut the small wooden dowels that will frame the quote. You’ll cut these the same width and height as your hard board, minus 3/4”.
Now, paint your hard board and stain the dowel pieces.
While the paint and stain are drying, you can use your Cricut Maker to cut out whichever quote you choose.
Then, once the paint is dry and your vinyl quote is ready, attach the vinyl to the hardboard.
To finish it off, attach your frame pieces to the top of the hardboard, around the quote, using wood glue. I used small hand weights to hold the pieces in place until the glue was dry. Books would probably work, too. We used command strips to hang them.
They’re so quick and easy to make you’ll want to customize them for each holiday! We made a bunch of Valentine’s Day ones, too!
Not only is the Cricut Maker a total game changer for everything DIY, the instructions and resources available on their website and YouTube Channel are endless! I’ve seen some seriously amazing projects using the Cricut Maker and we can’t freaking wait to learn more and expand our skill set. We’re still total newbs, but we’re obsessed with what we’ve been able to create so far!
XOXO
